The citizens information.ie website provides comprehensive information on public services and on the entitlements of citizens in Ireland. Citizensinformation.ie was developed, and is maintained by the Citizens Information Board. MyGovID

MyGovID gives you safe, online access to Irish government services. It is necessary to create a basic account for instant access to basic services but must proceed to Verify Your Account to unlock all MyGovID services. This gives access to a range of government services including: Welfare, Revenue, HSE, NDLS etc. The website is available at :

DSS (Decision Support Service)

Decision Support Service is a new service established under the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015. They are part of the Mental Health Commission but have a separate role. The following information is taken from their website at

"We provide an essential service for people who face difficulties and need support exercising their decision-making capacity. This may include, but is not limited to, people with an intellectual disability, acquired brain injury, mental health difficulty or dementia. This also includes all people who want to plan for a time when they might lose their capacity.

We help to protect and uphold people's rights to make their own decisions about their personal welfare, property, and affairs."
